Anyway, this version I have added What else I have submitted, an alternative strategy to the Escape on Alcatraz challenge, ALOT more Frequently Asked Questions (In fact, about 15 more or so). Done the character Bio's, take from THPS3 as they don't have it in this game, and last but not least, added in more trick descrpitions and the landing types. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 29th, 2003 Ohh, this seems like a pretty big update. VERSION: 3.5 Added in the whole multiplayer section, FILE SIZE: 340kb inlcuding the descriptions for most of the game modes (Except for Slap and Free Run) and added in the whole tips section for trick lines that you will need in every level. Added in afew more frequently Asked Questions and some more combo tricks, and I think thats about it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 28th, 2003 Haven't updated this file for nearly a VERSION: 3.4 week, that is manily because I have been FILE SIZE: 327kb busy with afew other guides. This update was done in nearly 1 hour. In this update I have added: Song lists, inlcuding the bands, link to lrics and wishlist for Tony Hawks 5, the miscellaneous section, with the tourney, added some combo scoring tips, and reformatted the Table of Contents to make it look better. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 20th, 2003 Well, it looks like I did a real lot, VERSION: 3.2 but seriously, I didn't. All I did was FILE SIZE: 311kb add in the moves to each character, what points they get for each trick, and how to execute each trick. Added the "What this contains" at the top, and also added one more pro challenge, which is the combo scare 40 birds one. Also made afew more changes around the place, like in the Table of Contents. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 18th, 2003 Well, a very big update. All I really VERSION: 3.0 did was add afew goals in the Pro FILE SIZE: 283kb section, but also added in a whole gap checklist, with total credit to PPM, thanks bud, it's really appreciated. All gaps are in there. Please, any comments about the gaps, please contact him, his email is ppm42(at)yahoo.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 16th, 2003 Decided that I am going to only try and VERSION: 2.7 work on this FAQ for the rest of the FILE SIZE: 221kb month, trying not to submit any other new file, and work on this one. Added three more pro challenges, one in Alcatraz, one in Kona, and another one in the Shipyard. Might get a gap list put up sometime. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 15th, 2003 A big update here. Started by finsihing VERSION: 2.5 goals around the place, but there are FILE SIZE: 217kb still afew holes in the normal goals that I haven't filled in as of yet. Added the Cheats section, as well as the secrets and glitches section. Thats about it me thinks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: March 11th, 2003 Not much here, it was long time since I VERSION: 2.1 updated last, but my friend has got the FILE SIZE: 169kb game now, getting it back tommorown so I can update some more. All I did was add a new site to host this guide. I forgeot the actual site name, but it starts with a f. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 24th, 2003 Added alot here. Started on the Pro VERSION: 2.0 challenges and done some of them. Some FILE SIZE: 168kb are missing from each level though, and Im yet to do past Kona. Yeah, I know, I'm lazy. Added in and then took at the gap checklist and cash icons section in the table of contents cos I'm yet to do them. I aslo added in the Custom Skater Specific walkthrough, added in the Playing Online section, re-did the table of contents and made a new section labelled "Levels Stuff." Added a section of whats new to this game from it's predessor, A big update. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 21st, 2003 A few things done. Mainly, I continued VERSION: 1.8 on the Pro Challenges. I complete the FILE SIZE: 138kb pro specific challenges Bob Burnquist, Rune Glifberg, Bam Magera and Elissa Steamer. Also, I added the Frequently Asked Questions Section and added things to that. Updated the TOC and made it look better and added the what's to Come section. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 19th, 2003 This version, I started doing hepro VERSION: 1.6 specific challenges. It took me half an FILE SIZE: 119kb hour only to do two of them, but then again, the Television was going in the background, putting me off, but still I liked the show. Tony Hawk and Chad Muska were done here, and this will be updated as soon as possible. Also added in something about the Nollie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 14th, 2003 Another smallish update, all I did was VERSION: 1.4 start on the San Francisco pro FILE SIZE: 114kb challenges. I did 3 of them, all about 1kb each, and that is all I done for today. I do not have enough time to update, because I have school and don't get home to like 3:30 and can only update for approximately 1 hour. I need to go back and play this game and get more notes, so it might be along while since I update next, unless I decide not to do the walkthrough and concentrate on something else about this game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 13th, 2003 Didn't update much here, only 3kb worth VERSION: 1.2 as you can see in the title of marked FILE SIZE: 111kb KB. With this 3kb, all I added was three more pro challenges. They are the ones for the first level, which is of course the college. Will work more on this guide sometime, maybe tomorrow if I can. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: February 11th, 2003 This is the first Version of the guide. VERSION: 1.0 It's not complete yet, but I say that FILE SIZE: 108kb it is very informative for every goal I have covered in the guide. Most of the Normal goals are complete, and note I said most there. About 80% complete to be near exact. I am still missing a few from the carnival, and I have not even started to do anything about the Pro Challenges or the Pro Specific challenges. More updates will come later, if I can find time for this guide. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ####################################################################### ======================================================================= 1: PROLOUGE ======================================================================= ####################################################################### INTRODUCTION ============ I have been a fan on the Tony Hawk's series. I have played them all. It first came along when I was playing a demo, and was Cycling through the games playing them. Then I came across Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, played the demo and I thought yeah, it was pretty good. On the demo you were allowed to make your own park (With limited pieces) so then I thought it was even better. I eventually bought it as my 3rd game on the Playstation. My brother also liked it as well, so we borrowed a friends copy of Tony Hawk's 1. I didn't really think much of that one though, but it was still good. Then I heard number 3 was coming out, so then I bought that the same day it came out. About 1 week later, I thought it was so good and had lot's of replay value, I completed the game 100% with every character, a custom skater, all goals done, all competitions first placed, all stats collected and all the decks and everything else done. It was an excellent game. Then I got my Playstation 2, and bought Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, this game that I writing a guide for now. I really like the series, and this one is great as well. Although I don't skateboard in real life, I still like these sort of games. PACKAGE ======= Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4, back cover: Pros challenge you to to make your mark in huge, free roaming levels, taking on 190 progressively harder goals with no time limits to hold your back. Decide when you're ready to take on your pro challenge and move into the pro ranks, where it is a whole new game. Build your skills, earn respect, and show that you've got what it takes to become pro.... NEW THINGS IN THPS4 =================== Here is where I list the new things in this game, and also the things that are taken out from the previous ones. FLATLAND TRICKS: Able to pull off things such as handstands and pogos and flips while in a manual. Looks cool as well as giving you some extra points for the multiplyer. LIP BALANCER: Able to see how your lip trick is balancing. On THPS3 on the Playstation, you could not see this, I'm not sure about the PS2 version though. NO BIG DROP: In THPS3 Playstation 1, there was a big drop if you fell from a building up high. There isn't this here. I suppose there is too many big jumps you need to execute. DOUBLES: You can perform things like double heelflips, kickflips, impossibles and all those sort of things. DOUBLE TRICK BUTTON: if you press left, circle, circle, you will do a total new different trick than the main circle button. SKITCHIN: Basically hold on to the back of a car and it will take you around. Great for some extra points. ======================================================================= ####################################################################### ======================================================================= 2: GAME BASICS ======================================================================= ####################################################################### CONTROLS ======== Button name Action ------------------------------------------------- - Cross - Jump/Ollie - Square - Flip Tricks - Circle - Grab Tricks - Triangle - Grind Tricks - L2 - Transfer/Revert - R2 - Revert/Transfer - R1 - Spin right - L1 - Spin Left ADVANCED CONTROLS ================= L1: Skate Switch SELECT: Change Camera TRICK EXAMPLES ============== Tricks can be done by pressing a trick button, such as SQUARE, and then a directional button before hand, for example: press left + square, or left, then square while in the air and your character will perform the trick selected. Pressing different combinations and your character will do different moves. Here are some examples of tricks: CIRCLE: Will do a grab trick, a grab trick is any trick that involves the character grabbing his board to do a trick. This includes Melons, Cannonballs, and thousands more. SQAURE Will do a flip trick, a flip trick is anything where the board is flipped, or spun around. TRIANGLE Is a grind, a grind is when your board goes along a rail, or something like a rail that has an edge. OLLIE Spin and you will get points, not much though. An Ollie is where you just jump and spin around abit. ADVANCED TRICKS =============== MANUALS: Yes, manuals return. To do a manual, press up then down while in the air, and when you land, it will go into a manual. Manuals are used to keep a combo alive. You can do a manual while you are on the ground, but then all point of keeping a combo alive is gone. REVERTS: To do a revert, go up a vert ramp and just as you land back on the vert ramp, press the R2 or L2 button, I prefer R2 because I've been using it since the last game. A revert is just like a switch and is mainly used to keep a trick alive. WALLRIDE: To do a wall ride, approach a wall so that you are parallel to it. Then move into the wall, jump and then grind next to the wall. There you go, a wall ride. Jump again and grind and you can reach even higher places than normal sometimes. FLATLAND TRICKS: Yes, new to Tony Hawks 4. You are able to do flatland tricks, such as pogo's, wrap around and more. To do flatland tricks, go into a manual, and then experiment with combos, such as Triangle + Triangle. This can be used to get more points. SPECIALS: A special is just what it says. It's a trick that is special to a character, and scores more points than other basic tricks. Special moves have a button combination such as UP, RIGHT + SQUARE. Also a noise comes up when you do a special. LIP TRICKS: Lip tricks are something where you stand still on the lip doing a trick with either your arms or the board. To do a lip trick, go up a vert ramp straight, and then at the edge, press a button combination + triangle really quickly so it does a lip trick instead of a grind. NOLLIE: A Nolie is just like an Ollie, really. It may be something to do with the board or something. Press L1 to get into position, and then press X to jump and do a nollie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EMAIL FROM: El Tony A Nollie is just not an Ollie. First, the way you pop the board is a Switch stance position (the wrong foot on the nose of the board and it's in Fakie (The foot that pops is placed on the nose instead of tail) and call it a switch fakie ollie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SKITCHIN: Skitchin is just hanging on to the back of a car. Just go up to the back of a car/cart/vehcile and press the up button next to the back of it, then just balance yourself out. Here are some descriptions from my THPS3 guide: Ollie ----- Ollie is a basic jump. To jump/ollie, press the X button. Hold down the X button and then let go to get more air. Ollie is the basic of all tricks. Press X neat to the lip to get good air on a half pipe. Manual ------ Manuals are designed really for keeping a trick alive to score more points for it. For example, if you do a great trick, then land, the manual will keep the trick going so you can find another rail or anything to go up again and continue the big score of the trick. Grab ---- Grab tricks are a great way to increase your trcik score. Do grab tricks by pressing and holding the O button down. The longer you hold the button down, the more points you score. You can also turn while doing grab tricks. Flips ----- These moves just basically make your board flip. They don't really score more points than the grab, but still good for some extra combo points or just to make a combo look better. Grinds ------ A grind is where you basically move along a rail. To do a grind, approach a rail/edge and press the triangle button next to it, or jump onto it and press triangle. Pressing triangle and different directions can of course perform different grinds. You also need to balance a grind, so use the directional buttons to do that. Plants ------ Plants are basically a stationary trick on the edge of a lip. To do a plant or a lip trick as they are called, find a bowl/halfpipe, and perform like a grind. When you are near the lip, quicckly press triangle + direction to do a plant. the longer you hold it, the more points you get. Let go of triangle to exit the trick. Reverts ------- Reverts are just a trcik at the end of a combo to keep it going for extra points and score. A revert is a switch at the end of a combo. To do a revert, press R2 when you land to do a revert. Before take-off tricks ---------------------- Before take off tricks are tricks thaty are perform before you take off from the lip, to get extra points. These are a No Comply, and a Boneless. To do a no comply, press up + x, be sure to do it at the right time, other wise you will roll over the ramp. Press up, up X to do a boneless. Wallride -------- To do a Wallride, get paralell to a wall, and then skate in towards it and press triangle. Your character will 'ride' on the wall. press X to jump higher. Special ------- Special tricks are perfromed by your character as their special move. These moves are better than any other, and look cool as well as score way more points than the other tricks. GAME MODES ========== FREE SKATE: Just lets you roam around all the levels that you have unlocked, or you will mostly use this to play a park that you made, because we all know that you can free skate in craeer mode around the level. SINGLE SEESION: Just lets you take the level for 2 minutes. Just score massive amounts of points and try to beat that score next run. CAREER MODE: Take on the main mode of the game, pros challenge you to goals, that get progressively harder each level. Also, you can roam around the level freely until you decide to take a challenge. NETWORK PLAY: Apparently if you hook up your Playstation 2 to your computer, you can play over the iternet. I don't know how to do it, and I really don't want to know. MULTIPLAYER: Play against a friend, your borther or anyone in some enjoyable multiplayer matches. Choose your character, player, etc. - Those are the game modes. Create a skater, Options etc. are NOT a game mode. They are just a sundrie or somthing TERMS ===== Here are some skateboarding terms I use, and the game uses. HALFPIPE: A halfpipe is two vert ramps opposite each other QUARTER PIPE: A basic vert ramp VERT RAMP: A thing used for going up and getting air points GAME TIPS ========= Massive Combo ------------- If you want to get a massively big combo, then here is how: 1. Find a halfpipe, a hlafpipe is where two quarterpipes are opposite each other, so you can land on one quarter pipe, and then go up the other one nearly as soon as you land, or afew seconds later. Make sure they are pretty close. 2. Go up one side of the halfpipe. It doesn't matter which side of the halfpipe it is, just find one and launch up into the air. 3. Perform a grab trick and spin it around. This will get you a massively big score, especially while a spin and a grab at the same time. Something like a Benihana or a method will do. They are both great for this. Anything like a Madonna can be too complicated. 4. Land in a revert and a manual. Revert first, when you are about to land by pressing the R2 or L2 button. By preffered is the R2. Manual while you are in the revert by pressing up, down or down, up. 5. Go up the other side of the vert ramp, and then do the same. Either a special or a spinning grab trick will do here. Since you still have alot of air, you should be able to sneak in a big trick. 6. Repeat the last stage, and revert into a manual. Also, REPEAT THE ABOVE, go up the next side of the vert ramp and keep on going until you lose all speed. 7. Do some flatland tricks while you are in the manual, since you will be still. handstands and handflips are good for some points, but any tricks will do. To perform a flatland trick, press, for example, O + O to do a handtstand, or Triangle + Triangle to do a pogo. 8. Land the trick, do not stack it. Hopefully you will get a massively big score, weathere your stats are good, excellent, the best, or crap. Wonkyness Fixed --------------- Sometimes when you accidently go off the side of a quarterpipe and then transfer over, but find out that there is no Vert ramp below to land on, then you will be looking at diving staright into the ground. Either press up or down to correct this, or easily press and hold R2. Combos Alive ------------ As I mentioned in the first tip, there are several ways you can keep a combo alive, so are just like a revert, a manual, or grabbing onto a a ledge and grinding. Do everything you can to keep it going. Slow Motion ----------- If you have any trouble with any challenge that involves something to do with balancing on a lip trick, grind, or a manual or finding things, than use this cheat. It can be bought in the secrets shop, and will make things easier because you can tell whats going to happen slower than before, thus allowing you to quickly correct it. Good cheat this, helped me finsih the game. ####################################################################### ======================================================================= SCORING TECHNIQUES ======================================================================= ####################################################################### SCORING TIPS (Straight from the manual) ======================================= Combine grab and flip tricks while catching air for higher scores You can continue your combo moves using reverts and manuals. Manuals will keep your combo going across flatland ground sections. Reverts will keep your combo going from big air tricks of ramps During a run, (except free skate) every time you repeat a trick, that tricks value will decrease. To get a high score, your going to have to thnk about your line and mix up tricks that you perform 2. Switch tricks are worth more and devalue seperately from your regular tricks 3. Try to trick in and out of every grind 4. Use special tricks for huge scores 5. Spinning while in the air perfroming tricks will net bigger scores. Press L1 and R1 (Or left/right) buttons to spin faster. 6. Every trick in a combo adds to your score multiplyer. 7. Nollie tricks score more points than regular tricks 8. Trick across gaps to maximise your combos 9. Explore the hidden combos to find new tricks 10. You can combo every trick - Lip tricks, manuals, vert tricks, grinds etc. and use reverts to link them all together. New to THPS4 are spine transfers and skitching...and you can link those combos too! GETTING A SICK SCORE ==================== Ever had a dream that you want to get a 500,000 + score in one combo? it seems impossible, but honestly, it's not. Heres how to get a great big score: * Go to somewhere like a halfpipe, a halfpipe is where 2 ramps are opposite each other, so when you land on one, you will have to just keep going foward and you will go up the next ramp) an example of this is a bowl, or just the one in Kona that is wooden. * Go up the vert ramp, but just pull off a little trick, this is just to get speed and isn't the start of the big combo * Then go up the next side of the vert ramp, and pull off a really big trick and spin it as well, such as a cannonball, melon or any grab trick * Just as you are about to land on the lip, press the R2 button, this will revert you, while the revert is going, press up, down or down up to go into a manual * This will keep the trick alove, so go up the vert ramp opposite and perfrom another really big trick, and revert into a manual at the end * Keep on doing this and the combo will eventually grow so large. Try to get your base score up to about 20,000. * After doing so many manuals though, you will eventually lose alot of speed, but you want to keep the trick going right? Yeah of course. * Pull off ground tricks. Now we are trying to get your multiplyer higher. Start doing pogos, then quikcly go into a wrap around, back to a pogo, etc. etc. * Keep doing this and balance yourself. Land when you have a score something like this: 21,020 x 24. That will give you a HUUUGEEE score. * Roughly, that will give you a massive score of about: 500,000 points MULTIPLIER ========== This is how I have worked out the multiplyer does: Lets say you first start off by doing a heelfip: Totoal: 100 points Next, you do a Fs Shove it: 200 points. This is what your score will look like: 100 + 100 = 200 x 2 = 400. Voila! VARIATION ========= Keep your tricks variated, this means do different ones when you need togo for something like a pro score that is huge. Keep doing different tricks, and not the same for more points. Tricks decrease each time you use it by about %15 of the total score. But sometimes, the second time you do the trick, it can actaully be more than the first time, maybe it's something to do with the air you get off the jump. *Is confused!* COMBO TIPS ========== HERE ARE SOME EXTRA COMBO TIPS FROM THPSONLINE.COM: REVERTS Just like in THPS3, reverts are essential to high scores. The best way to build up your base score in THPS4 is to hit QP's for 720 or 900 special grabs. With the advent of the revert, you can now link these QP's airs almost infinitely. By reverting at the bottom of the QP, you can continue manualing into a combo. However, reverts will slow you down. There is a trick to keeping your speed though, and that is to jump just as soon as the revert animation starts, and land in a manual again. This will keep you going faster, however you will still slow down. So after reverting it is important to find a rail to grind, which will get your speed back up to normal. It is also of note that the revert button will now also right your skater should you happen to fall off the side of a QP, by righting yourself, you can land in a manual and continue your combo. Also, you can use this feature to cause your skater to land on a rail, thus airing into a grind, which can be very useful and adds alot of variety to a line. SPECIALS What types of specials you have also depends on your style of play. If you do alot of airs, throwing in more air specials will give you a higher base. More grinding and the opposite applies. However, a good mix of specials is SIX airs and FOUR grinds (or FIVE and FIVE). Special manuals, while very cool, are essentially worthless in getting high scores. They take a while to even register to get points, and by the time it does, you will already be jumping onto another rail. Special Manuals are a waste of a slot, don't use them if you really want to get high scores. Specials that can be spun yeild the most points, so use the majority of your air trick slots for those. The flips in THPS4 spin alot faster than in THPS3, so these are very good additions to your trickset. The kickflip backflip is VERY fast, and you can actually throw in two in a decent air. The misty flip is also good because it is worth the most points out of any of the flips. With 11 special trick slots, it is a good idea to have at least a few flips on hand. They come in very handy when you just need to quickly throw a special, and since they spin faster, you can now do 540 backflips which yeild about the same points as most 900 special grabs. BALANCING First thing: The absolute KEY to balancing lies in soft taps. DO NOT hold the opposite direction when attempting to fix your balance, that will just screw you over when your balance meter flies back the other way. Any time you are grinding, manualing, whatever, you should be constantly tapping the button in order to keep it centered. Lots of light taps are better than a single hard press, it will give you much more control. Now, sometimes the balance meter will start to go towards one side, and then come back on it's own. If this is the case, just let it come back until it reaches the middle, then resume tapping to keep it there. Any time you leave a rail, make sure the meter is close to being in the middle. If you leave the meter close to one side when you jump off, when you hit the next rail the meter will still be close to the side and you will most likely bail. LANDINGS ======== They haven't changed from THPS3, so here they are from my FAQ on that: Landing ------- Of course, to get points, you need to land the trick. To land, stop doing all tricks and head to ground. its no good still doing a trick and trying to land, as you will stack the trick and loose all recognition for it, as well as those valuable points. There is 3 ways you can land, well, actually 3 types of ways that can score more. Perfect Landing --------------- You landed absolutely perfect, the board was in exact line. Perfect tricks are easy to do, you just don't spin in the air, but do normal tricks, like flips, and you should land perfectly. But sometimes it doesn't always count it. Perfect gets you bonus points, not much, but still good. Normal ------ The most common landing you will get. This is when you land your board slightly off line, not good enough to be a perfect, but not bad enough to be a sketchy landing, this will probably happen 1/2 of your landings. Still, you should strife for perfect, but when doing spin tricks, it is easier to just keep spinning and landing normal than to try and line it up perectly. Sketchy ------- This happens when you land slightly on the side, or like that. The landing is not good enough to be normal, but not bad enough to be a complete failure and you stack it. But this is nearly stack, so watch your positions. Stack ----- This can commonly happen, you landed sideways, or you didn't finish the trick before you tried to land. You will lose all your points that you created in the air, and you will fall down. Press buttons to get back up quicker. ####################################################################### ======================================================================= 4: NORMAL GOALS WALKTHROUGH ======================================================================= ####################################################################### ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COLLEGE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- GRIND DOWN OFFICER TOM'S BANNERS ================================ To get this mission, go towards the stairs leaading towards the upper section of the lkevel, the guy is just on the road waiting for you, if you can't find him, he has an arrow above his head, and is a citizen. What you have to do in this challenge is to grind down the banners, face the first wall, then wallride up it by getting parralel to the wall, and then press triangle, when your grinding up the wall, quickly press the X button, you will jump up, then press the triangle button and you will grind the top. Keep grinding and knock down the banner thing. Keep on grinding all the way along, and jump and then return to a grind if you need to, at the end, you wil have to jump off, so jump off and wallride, then ollie the next wall and grind the banners. NAIL THE TRICKS THEY YELL OUT ============================= To find this, it is to the left of the car-park while looking at it from the tennis courts. It is Tony Hawk and he is near a "Woodland" school sign. Go up to him and press the O button. What you have to do is nail the tricks (In other words, do) the tricks that the kids call out. The tricks to do appear at the bottom left of your screen, and also the combination that the kids yelled out. For example, if down the bottom of the screen <- + O is written there, press left, then circle, or left and cirle together. Do all the tricks that they call out, try to only do 1 in an air movement to avoid stacking. But when you get more air, start doing more in a combo. Also watch out for movement, as if you pull to the side too much, you will miss the ramp and fall on your side. CLOCK 5 JOCKS IN A COMBO ======================== Near the colliseium, if you don't know how to find the colleisum, head from the car-park entrance, trun right, and then keep going down to the end. At the end wall, you will see a citizen with an arrow above his head (Unless you done the mission) then turn right into the ramp, use it to transfer over the part to the left. This one was hard at the start, but then it really became easy. To complete this, you will need good grind balance and an alirhgt manual ballance. What you have to do is hit five of those rugby or whatever players in the one combo. Heres what I did: Start from where the guy tells you, and then grind onto the rail, and then hit the jock(s). Go off at the end, and then you will lose your combo, don't worry. Trun around, grind on the rail and hit all the jocks on the one rail, and jump to the next. You will most likely get about 2 or 3 jocks, then at the end, jump off. But go into a manual so you keep the combo, to keep your speed, jump then go into a maunal again, then go up the ramp, do a trick to get some more speed, then do a revert at the end to get the combo continuing, then manual again, and then grind the rail again, and go along and get the jocks. NAIL A 360 VARIAL MCTWIST ========================= Tony Hawk gives you this, and he is located next to the tennis courts with the ramps and halfpipes. Press O and he will give you the challenge. Go up the ramp, and pull off a move, better use a grab trick, something like a cannonball and hold it by holding down the O button, down spin around, it will put you off balance. Land, then go up the next ramp and pull off a similar trick. That should get your special full, then nail the special move that appeard up the top, right hand corner off your screen, make sure you start the trick straight away, and you have speed and air. Perfrom it straight away, and make sure you land it. Don't spin around, that can put your trick in danger. Land it, and your done. COLLECT SKATE ============= The good old S-K-A-T-E letters from all the Tony Hawk's retruns. To find this challenge, it is on the road, just up from the parking lot, near the statue and little hut that says something about security. You will find a proffeser there. The S can be found by going foward and then grinding on the rail that is just before the woodland school sign, then jump from the rail, up onto the roof part and grab the S. Then turn around, facing towards the road, and then turn left and then trun left into the car-park. FOllow it up to the top, and grind the wire that is paralell to the road going towards the ramp and the colieusiem. Grind the wire that you see with the K and the cash on it. Grind it, and collect it. now fall down, and keep going foward. Race down the road, and you will come to a garbage truck. Press up and press X and you will do a giant leap. Hopefully, you will grab the A, if not, try again, and if you still can't get it, move up abit and use the ramp on your right, and grind the ledge, then turn right, and you will see the A, easily collect it. Then move up the stairs and you willsee a ramp and like a sop, use the ramp and go up, and you will collect the T, then move on to the house about a block to the left of you when looking at the shop part. You will find another house looking thing, go around the right side and use the ramp to grind the roof, then keep moving foward to find it. BEAT THE INLINE SKATERS BEST TIME ================================= This is near the picnic tables, go up the stairs near the guy in the big (hehe) and keep going up, you will see him. What you have to do is navigate through the cones. Head down the ramp, and navigate your character through the first gate whcih is the cones neat to the stairs, take the ramp down, and go through the ramp next to the arc at the end. From here, trun right at go under the arch to your upper right. Then keep heading up, go through the cones next to the news boards and past the bridge, trun left and go through the arch onto the road, this does a zig-zag here, so steer properly and go through them all. Then finally the last one is in the car-park. If you can't find any of these cones, use the arrow situated above your head. GET THE HIGH SCORE ================== this challenge is nest to the pool with writing on it, and also next to afew picnic tables. Your objective is to get a big score, which is the high score. These are my favourite challenges to do, the scores. This is given to you by Jamie Thomas, who obviously sucks at getting a big score. There are two ramps adjacent (Across/opposite) Use one of them to go up, and perfrom a trick, then land and go up the next ramp, and score. To get a massive combo, go up one ramp, perfrom a grab combo such as a grab move, hold it, let go at the end, then revert. Go into a manual stragith away, then go up the next ramp and peform a little trick, BUT MAKE SURE YOU LAND IT!!!! Followed by a revert, that should get your a sick score. You only need to get 40,00, which I can do in one combo. Oh, also, if you don't want to use those ramps there, you don't have to. You can go around getting the points as you wish. GET THE PRO SCORE ================= To get this challenge, it is Jamie Thomas, who is situated by the shop with a missing part of the roof, near the high score challenge. It's also near the challenge where you done the pro score Once again, the two ramps are excellent for getting the pro score, use them to do grab tricks, then reverts and then manuals to get an excellent score. I can do this in 1 combo. But I had 2 off perfect air stats when i did this, because thats what the character I used had at that time 9AT the beginning of the game.) Anyway, this is easy. Acore 75,00, and you are done. Remember: Do reverts into manuals for more points. PHOTO SHOOT =========== This is near the arch closest to the professer that gives you skate, it is near a spine part and nearly under an arch. It is a photographer and he has an arrow above his head. Just do what the guy says over the spine. What to do will be in the top right hand side. MEDAL COMPETITION ================= This guy is out front of the shop with the ramp, actually he is near that. It's near the road that leads away fro the main college area, and leads out of game area. You now have to compete in your first competition. You have very little time, so make the most of it. Remember, if you are doing a combo, and the time runs out, you will have to finish the current combo for the judges to actually take the score and the run finishes. This can very easily be used to your advantage. AT the start, quickly go up the ramp, and hold a grab trick such as something like cannonball or melon, and then start turning around (spinning) just when your about to land, turn facing foward so you will land foward, then revert at the end, followed by a manual, then grind the rail to your left. Keep grinding, you should now have a massive combo, but keep going, go around the rail, and jumping as well. Follow it up at the end by manualing and then going up the ramp. This will give you a massive combo, but no-one really listens to me, so you can really do it anyway you want to score your points. A good score will be a good mark, so the more you get, the better your score from the judges will be. You get 3 runs, the 2 best of yours and everyone else's are only included and are what really count. So if you really do a bad run on something like your 2nd or 3rd go, don't worry, only your best 2 count, make sense? Good! Something around two 85s and sometimes less will nail a spot in the top 3. Easy. GAP BETWEEN THE FLOATS ====================== This is at the end of the road, it's near the part with the steps to the left. The road will suddenly end. To the right is a ramp, and you will see the guy there as well. A parade is starting, and you have to gap between the float 10 times. Go up the back of the float and spine transfer into the bit with the 2 ramps that are actually adjacent to each other, like a halfpipe or whatever. Anyway, spine transfer over this, and then you will notice a little jump, do this jump and into the next halfpipe, thats one gap, go back and jump over that same gap, beauty, another gap. Keep going back and forth getting this gap, easy. If you accidently fall off, go to the place where you got in the float in the first place. COLLECT COMBO ============= He is easily located on the bridge in the heart of the main jumps area. He looks like a bum, and I think he is. What you have to do is collect C-O-M-B-O in the one combo. Yes, this is new to the Tony Hawks series. A combo is one whole trick that you havenm't landed without doing a trick, for example, a manual is still doing a trick, so you still get points and it keeps the whole trick going. Anyway, grind the railing, and keep going around, you will have to jump at one stage, but all the letters are in close range. Grind the rail and use the directional buttons to keep your balance. WARN THE SKATERS ================ This challenge can be found next to that ramp that leads to up ontop of the shop, it's a little kicker near the road leading out of the games area, and it will lead you onto a shops's awning that is red and white. Officer Tom is going to arrest or something like that some skaters for skating in the wring section, or something. Getting speed can be a little problem in this, because the officer can be faster than you, with some skaters it can happen, If this does happen, jump, you will boost a bit. Follow the arrow, it will lead you to the first skater that is up the stairs and near those tables and building. Just run into the guy and he will start skating off. Now follow the arrow to the next skater, make sure Tom isn't beating you in speed and distantce though. The second guy is near the hut near where you got the S-K-A-T-E challenge from the professer. Run itno him to warn him about the cop, and then head over to the colliesium (sp?) by following that arrow. Then lastly head over to the car-park and warn the last skater. SKITCH THE PROFFESSERS CAR ========================== Go to the car-park, and then take the ramp up to the top, the car-park place is pretty bare apart from the one guy, which is this professer. Go up to him and by now you should know, press O next to him to get this challenge. Some thieves are getting away with the professer's car, you must skitch it and follow it. Press and hold (Actually, I'm not sure that you have to hold up) and keep on it. All you have to do now is follow the car, seems simple. But ballance is your real threat. Listen to what the helecopter or news or whatever says while your keeping your balance, if your balance meter goes right, just tap or do a little long tap to get it back to the middle, try and keep it in the middle. If you hold down left for too long when it is right of the middle, it will skyrocket all the way left. Skitch it for awhile (20 seconds or longer) and your done. Also, son't bother about watching the car, just watch the balance meter. Capiche. COLLECT THE DRUNK'S ELEPHANTS ============================= Really, this is at the end of the path, it is near those logs, and ramps at the back of the jumps and grinds section. All you have to do is grind the log, collect those elephants, and then spine transfer over theramp, and then collect the rest of the elephants, grinding helps you speed along, so use that and quicky get the elephants before the time runs out. GET BACK AT 5 FRAT BOYS ======================= You will find this challenge from someone who got stcuk in a bin, he was put there. When the road dead ends near the colliesium and the shops, head left. Go up the stairs and you will see a poor guy in the trash can. You pull the guy out, now it is your job to get back at all those frat boys for puting the guy in the bin. Anyway, go foward down the stairs and you will see a ramp basically in front of you, go up the ramp and grind along the edge to your right, you will grind and hit the frat boy number 1. Jump otno the balcony section, and run into the second frat boy that you see, standing on top of a barrel. Then keep going up and at the end of the balcony near the awning, hit the next frat boy. Then jump back down, and go to where you started the mission, wallride the wall where you grinded down the banners, and grind over the frat boy. Keeo grinding, and you will hit the last one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SAN FRANSISCO ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GET THE HIGH SCORE ================== To get this challenge, it is one the footpath near the pier (The pier is the section where the overhead walkway starts, with the two ramps (halfpipes) with a slope in the middle leading up to the 2 viewfinders at the back). There are two ramps next to the pier's slope that are good for vert tricks. Use these to score your points, unless you are a grinding skater. Stil, getting 50,00 as a score is very easy, but if you are having trouble with stacking it on those two vert ramps, head to the back of the pier section, and you will be at those 2 view-finders, then there are heaps of vert ramps around here. If you like grinding, well there are plenty of spaces around the level to "bust" some massive scores. Easy indeed. COLLECT SKATE ============= This is given to you by painter bob, use the overhead walkway to get there, which starts at the pier, (see get the high score beginning for what I clasify as the pier). Or alternatively, there is stairs and ramps with graffiti on the walls next to them, you can get up here also. Just a little note, the S-K-A-T-E letters don't have to be collected in order, they can be collected in ANY order you wish, but just to make it easier, I will do it in the order of the letters. Ok, move up and transfer to the low ramp below to the right, while transferring, you will come to the S in the air. Then head foward, all the way until you see a set of about 5 steps, you will obviously see the K, then go to your upper left to pier 18. Use the ramp to the left, and then grind along to the right. You will obtain the A. Now, jump to the left so you will be on the roof. Turn around, and then jump to the roof adjacent (Opposite) Go to the upper right of this building, and then jump and grind on the wire to find the T. Nearly done, fall off the roof to your right, and then grind along. Jump the gap, and then you will come to a ramp. Spine transfer over it, and then go back up that same ramp and grab the E. COLLECT THE COMBO LETTERS ========================= To find this, the guy is at the start of that humungous ledge, closest to where you start the level. Jump onto that ledge and grind. Straight ahead will be the C. Then keep grinding and jump over the bvall, then grind and grab the O. Then, jump over the ball, grab the M. Make sure you keep your balance fairly still, but as well actually looking at the screen so you know when to jump. SO using a boardslide for this will be good because I have found that a boardslide doesn't lose balance as much. Anyway, jump over the gap and grab the B, you will probably fall off the end, so manual and get your way to the left so you can get back to the ledge, then grind the ledge once more and grab the O. Yay, your done. FIND THE MESSANGERS PACKAGES ============================ This can be found below the overhead walkway, just off the road, and if coming from the pier 18 way, it's on your left towards the back near the skate challenge. The first package is straight ahead of you, transfer between the ramps. The 2nd package is at the peir ramps, they are 2 coloured. Transfer or grind transfer between them. Then go to the buildings just off the road, the ramps before them will carry the next 3 packages. Easy, simple, done! AXLE STALL 3 PIER SIGNS ======================= To find this challenge, at the pier (looking at those 2 ramps that are coloured, with the overhead walkway as well) head left. ust after the part of water, trun into the section with the few fisherman there. Go up, and you will see a guy with an arrow above his head near a big ramp. This is eeeeaaaasssssyyyyy. Ok, what you have to do is axke stall the 3 pier signs. Now, I don't know if the trick differs from person to person (character) , but when I did it, it was right + Triangle to do the axle stall. Anyway, straight ahead of you will be a ramp, go up it, and press the combination, and do the axle stall. Make sure you don't spin/twist/whatever in theair, because you will grind. Try and stay straight, and lip the sign, not the actual part of the ramp. Once you land, grind the ledge/barrier just to your left, this will lead you all the way around, past the fisherman (All of them) and towards another pier, with the 2 viewfinders. There will be 2 signs here, go for the one to your right first, followed by the one to the left. FEED THE SEA LIONS ================== This cna be found at the pier location where the last two signs where mentioned at the last challenge, she is just near the fisherman, at the pier with the viewfinders. I hated this level for about 5 minutes, I couldn't work out what to do. First I tried using be as bait, then I tried grinding along the wire above them, so they would try to get be so her husband could escape. But then it really sank in when it said "Feed" the sea lions, and the only thing I could see to feed them was the fish, or me. So it was this fish. To start, move up and grind the bench with the tackle box on it. The fisherman will go and straighten up his tackle box. Then trun around and grind where he was standing, you will kncok his catch into the water (1 out of 4) Go around the corner and repeat to the next 3 fisherman. MANUAL THE OVERHEAD WALKWAY =========================== This can be found on the overhead walkway, use the ramps to get up there. Look for the person with the arrow above his head. Grind the edge, all the way along and jump over way before the cones. When you are about to reach the first set of cones, manual. Kepp your balance, and head over to the right part of it to avoid turning later on. Keep manualing and balancing. USe up and down to correct your balance. Go throught he next set of cones and then land. BEAT MUSKA'S 3 BEST COMBOS ========================== The first combo that you have to beat is 4,000. Do not, I repeat _do not_ fully jump down the stairs, it is a gap, and because it is the end of the combo, you will lose. Roll gently down the stairs and go to the ramp that is on your right, go up it, do a trick, revert into a manual at the end, then grind and land. That should be really easy. Next, is the 5,000 point combo, the only real way to get these points are use the rails on the roof and transfer between them, then manual off the end. Now, last, the 6,000 combo. The best place I found to do this is a ramp over the road, only because I like doing vert tricks more. DARKSLIDE THE WATERSIDE RAIL ============================ To get this challenge, there is a little gap next to the warehouse that says "Pier 18" on the side. Go up through this gap and go to the right, and you will see the tourists there. What you have to do is perform a special trick (Grinding) so the tourist can take a picture of you in the background of her husband. Go up the end of the dock, and go up the ramp, do a big trick that can get your special up straight away (Something about 4,000 points will do), then go to the rail, and perform the special move listed (I'm not sure if it is a Darkslide for every character) so do the combination that it says and grind the rail. Go all the way along, while balancing and you wiull automatically go off at the end and land. Thats when the cut-scene will come in. MEDAL IN THE COMPETITION ======================== To get this challenge, a competition judge is near the area near that Knocka film studio, or whatever that name is. There are 2 ramps here that are good for scoring bucket-loads of points. The first ramp (Straight ahead of you) do a grab trick, then a revert for alot of points, and then try and even do some grounds. But I go with the two ramps and bust some sick grab tricks worth ... well... heaps! I once got 99 but all of the judges. This should really be no trouble if you are good a vert skillis....like me! Do three runs, and the top two scores by the judges count. Come 1st 2nd or 3rd to complete the challenge. PRO SCORE ========= To get the pro score challenge, a skater is in the middle of that statue type thing with circle around steps leading up to it, where the "K" was on the skate mission. The best and easiest place to do the pro score if you are good at vert tricks is in tha pool next to it. This can be used for great grab tricks, then reverts to manuals and go up the ramp once again to keep it going and get some more points. SAVE PAINTER NEIL ================= To find this, the challenge is on a pier, the guy is painting and there is a huuuge gap between two buildings, if you have done that manual, gap and manual thing, it is near here. (The manual one isn't the overhead walkway, see below) First, it wont be a cahllenge. He will tell you that if you want to help, get rid of those birdes. So grind the edge railing around and hit all the birds. Once thats done, you will get a short scene. The pier collapses and a shark appeaes. Someone will yell out "You've gotta save my partner". As the cut-scene ends, you will notice a ball just ahead of you. There will be wire surrounding it, grind the wire and keep grinidng all the way around the ball, this will knock the ball off and it will roll and hit the shark. The painter neal is still hanging on, but you still win the challenge. RACE THE BIKE MESSANGER ======================= The challenge can be fond just off the road, and coming from pier 18 warehouse, it will be on your right just after the overhead walkway going......well....overhead. There is no way you can beat this guy normally, as in just skating at your speed, he goes too fast. The best way to go about it is to skitch the car. Skitch the car and balance on it. Look at the arrow, and it will tell you where the warehouse is. Get off the car here, and get the marker. Then skitch another car back, and be first back to the warehouse were you started to win. RACE TO GET THE CAMERA ====================== This can be found down at the pier, the guy is in a group of other skaters, so look for a big group of people on the pier. First, quickly race over to Pier 18 and talk to the guy. He will say that he was mugged. Quickly turn around, and race along the road (Using grinds to go faster) and get to the bus stop. He will sya that he lost the film, don't stop and floor it to the film shop. Jump over the seats and grab the film. Then speed back QUICKLY to where the sakter is. You will have to do this one real fast. NAIL THE TRICKS THEY YELL OUT ============================= This challenge can be found next to that big ledge. A proffesional skater is there next to the ledg, the ledge is that big thing with the balls on them where you collecte the combo letters. Still confused? It's straight in front of you when you start the level. This one can be abit tricky, because it involves trick stuff, duh! Nah, anyway, it can be tricky because it can be hard for some people to grind, jump then perform a trick such as a heelflip and return to a grind. For some, it is easy, but for others, it can be hard. Never pull a trick going over those ball things, you will stack. Also, never perform a trick onto the ledge, always perform them in the air, for example, grind, jump, [insert trick here] then return to the grind. All tricks are in the bottom right hand side of the screen, and the tricks can be done while going off of the ledge as well. If you stack it, then you lose all the tricks you done in that combo. MANUAL, GAP, THEN MANUAL ======================== This challenge can be found on the sidewalk just to the right of the road near that big open space when coming in from the road where you start the level. A pro skater will be there. This one is HARD, so F***ING hard to do! I still cannot do it, but I know what to do, it's just doing "that" is the problem. Anway, mullen has set up a plank rollercoster or something, and you have to manual, then jump the gap, then manual off the end. Start by jumping onto the planks into a manual, you will defently lose speed, so to try and keep it, while in the manual, do a pgo by pressing T + T (Trinalge + Triangle) or alternatively, jump then land in a manual. Then clear the gap by jumping, return to a manual, and finally manual all the way off the end. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ALCATRAZ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ ==================== From the start of the level, use the warp zone to the left of you and you will be taken up. To the right will be some pools. Grind the right edge of them and jump onto the pipes you see. Grind them all the way around and you will come to a court yard area where the baseball pitch is. Do a U - Turn to your left and go through the next warp zone you will be taken to the roof, and look for the prisoner up here. There are 33 supplies around the level to collect. You have to collect these all and get to the ferry. Sounds easy for now, but there is a catch. You have only 1 minute to get them all in. That means one every 2 seconds, but at the end you can be in a combo. This is THE hardest normal challenge in the game. Harder than most of the others in all the levels, even chicago. I have completed every single goals in the game, yup, all 190 and this was the last goal I did to get all 190, so it is hard and took me 2 hours to do. This is why it is so high up. Anyway, on with the walkthrough. You start from the lighthouse, jump and grind the wire and collect supply number [1] from the wire. At the end of this wire, jump down and grind the edge of the skylight and grab yourself spuuly number [2]. At the end of this skylight, transfer across to your left and grab muber [3]. Jump off at the end and transfer up the vert ramp and go to the right. In the air, you will collect supply number [4], [5] and [6]. Make sure you get all of them while doing the transfer. You should land in the bowl from that transfer. When you do land, grind to your left around the bowl, so you are grinding towards the pipes. Go around the bowl and collect spully number [7], [8], [9] and number [10] from here. Jump onto the pipe leading out by the watertower, and grind this along and collect one supply from on the pipe, which is number [11] and sometimes you can nab number [12] as well. Don't worry if you don't, though. Kepp grinding the pipes and at the end, grab yourself number [13] and jump off into the courtyard section. Jump over the pitches mound where the baseball minigame is and collect yourself supply number [14] from there. Transfer over the busted wall and grab number [15], and then land and grab the one straight ahead of you. Try not to stack. that one is number [16]. Go up and grind the railing and jump off and grab number [17] and then you should hit the wall and be facing the way of the next few. Grind the railing and nab number [18] on here and jump over the gap and in the air you should get number [19]. Keep grinding along and by the warp section will be number [20]. Wallride the wall near the pools and grab number [21] and then jump down and nick number [22]. Jump down to your right and you will see one lonely supply out by the water. Suicide yourself for this one, by holding up and jumping off the ramp. Grab it in the air, which is number [23]. From that fall, you will be in the water. You will be put down near the bombed halfpipe. But turn to your right and go through the warp section back up the top. Once you are up there, turn around and go down the gigantic hill towards the bombed pool. Grab yourself number [24] from here and then jump down and grind the quarter pipe and get muber [25] and grind the bombed pool area and grab number [26]. Grind along the rails and grab the rest along here. ALTERNATIVE STRATEGY << From: Brett Kuharik >> Hey I am Brett Kuharik. Sorry if its not a map but that would be hard to make hope this helps! Start by grinding down the rope, then jump off and grind on the prison roof's window it lines you up with. When you get that one, jump to the left window and get that one. Then there is a little vert ramp. Launch to the right, making sure to get the 3 in the air and you will land in the pool. Grind around the pool clock wise and jump off when you see the little passage. Grind the rail you see down the stairs (make sureto ollie over the gap) and you'll end up down another small nook. You'll see a little rail with a tool over it... grind it and it will line you up with the halfpipe you will launch off of to cross the gap. Then grab the tool above the pitcher's mound. This is kinda tricky grind the leftmost pipe and when you reach the peak, jump off, collecting the tools in the air and landing on a set of smaller pipes. When you get off, grind the edge of the quarter pipe and ollie over the crushed wall and keep grinding. Next, you will need to grind a handrail grind this until you drop off. Then shred the ledge to the left and stay on and it will take you to the boat. Ollie off when you get to the front, turn, and go up the skinny ramps on either side for the last tool... Whew! WOW! GET THE HIGH SCORE ================== There are ramps leading upwards near the bombed pool, that ramp, and those pipes. Take the rampp all the way up (Cars and Carts and vehicles travel along this road) Go up the ramp and you will see Elissa Steamer near a guard, go up to her and she gives you the challenge. The best place to get the score is these 2 ramps that are opposite each other. They are nice vert ramps, and can be used to get some serious air. Just do grab tricks and spin them aroun. If you are having trouble here, try and find a different spot, and if you are more of a grinder, there are only afew good spots for that. Anyway, 55,000 is pretty much nothing, this is really simple, and I can do it in 1 combo with the stats I had then. COLLECT C-O-M-B-O IN ONE COMBO ============================== This challenge can be found near the bombed pool, and the ramps with those vents/drains where the prisoner has been hiding. The guy is somewhere here. The C is straight ahead of you, grind the ramps lip. Then jump across to the rail ledge just before you are at the end of the lip (To me, it wallrides for some reason and then goes way off line) Anyway, the O is on that rail. Then jump up onto the roff and grind all the way to the end. In your process of doing that, you would of collected the M and also the B. Only the O now, jump off the roof into a manula and go up the ramp at the end of the jetty. COLLECT S-K-A-T-E ================= The challenge for this can be found on the tallest building, the entrance to this tallest section is in way that says up near the security guard will the arrow above his head, if the security guard isn't there, then you have done this mission and there will be a big opening with two ramps instead. Go up top into the top area and you will find the guy. By now, you should know what to do, but if you don't, well the title really explains what to do, collect the letters: S-K-A-T-E. Anyway, go straight haead and leap off the ramp and grab the S, then tirn left and the start of the ramp that leads down wil be the K, then make a huge leap and grind around the edge of that tower thing to grab the A. Then go to the railing section near that bombed pool, and grab the T. The last E is at those steps, go to the ferry, and then turn around. Go up the ramp and leap and get the E. TAKE THE ALCATRAZ TOUR ====================== Ranger Ron can be found near the ferry and the jetty, pretty much as soon as you come to Alcatraz, but just to the left. Skitch the cart. Balance yourself out and listen to Ranger Ron as you go. As you go up the ramp, you will hear Ranger Ron say something, but it's kind of too fast, what you have to do is get those birds down. Go to the end closest to the pipes and grind along, hitting the birds. The reason for getting the birds starting from the left is because if you start from the right, you will fall in the water. Skitch back on the cart or whatever, then when he stops, grind the barrles of the edge. Once again, skitch back on the cart and you be on the last challenge. There Ranger Bob will be. Go up to him, and just knock him over. Done. REVERT MADNESS ============== This is that Photographer again, he is near that bombed pool, or where you collected the T in the Skate letters. BTW, the bombed pool is the pool with the top that looks like it has been broken, I call it the bombed pool because thats what it is called in the Park Editor mode. Start off my doing a revert. Go up the ramp, and press R2 when you land. Simple, now do a revert into a manual. Go up the ramp, press R2 when landing, and then while doing the revert, press up, down (or down, up) and then land the revert, manual combo. Now lastly, perform a lip trick (Direction + Triangle) Land it into a revert, followed by a manual. Land it and your done. DUNK 30 TOURISTS ================ This can be found from Bam Magera, i'm pretty sure you have to do anpther goal to get this un-locked, but I can't be certain. This challenge can be found near the steps, that lead to where you get the E from skate. It is near the ferry. This is more fun than serious, what you have to do is hit thirty people into the water. Just grind the ledges, and this will knock people off into the water. Keep grinding and knocking the people into the water. The tourists re-spawn. 30 should be easy to reach. DISTRACT THE GUARDS =================== This challenge can be found by the prisoner under the vent. The vent is between two half pipes and that bombed pool where you done revert madness. The prisoner is hidng underneath, you don't need to get underneath there to get the challenge, he will talk to you from below. What you have to do is make some noise so the prisoner can escape, or at least get to the roof. Start by hitting the barrle that is right in front of you, then grind the right ledge and hit the next barrle. Return to the left side and knock the barrle over there, and once again return to the right side, grind up, and hit the next barrels here. After those are hit, hit the barrle next to the pipes and grind the pipes. The next one is on the seat, hit it and grind the pipes at your upper right to get the next barrel. Jump over to safe land and hit the next barrel on the railing, jump across and grind the garden-bed type thing and then hit the next barrel. Make your way over to the closest corner to you and grind the rail of the foghorn. SEMI FLIP THE BULDOZER ====================== This challenge can be found near where the Medal Comepetition is held. After getting 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the competition, the bylldozer will become unlocked, as well as this challenge. The name really says it all, what you have to do is semi-flip the bulldozer. Once again, I'm not sure if the Semi-flip ois the trick that you have to do for the other characters, so it is probably diferent trick for all characters. Anwya, go up the ramp past the bulldozer and do a massive trick, something with about 4,000 points will do. Then while you have the speed, jump the bulldozer and do the selected trick. MAIL THE TRICKS THEY YELL OUT ============================= To unlock this challenge, you must complete "get the guards key's" so that he will let you skate inside, and you get this challenge inside. Iniside, talk to the guy. Apparently there are "Ghosts" in the cells and wont shut up, so you have to nail the tricks they yell out. Just go up the ramps and nail the tricks that are called, they will appear on the screen in the bottom right hand side. Just go up the ramp pulling the tricks off as they come. If this is your list for example: <- + [] : Heelflip <- + [] : Heelflip -> + O : Cannonball -> + O : Cannonball You only need to do 1 heelfip and 1 canonball to clear the WHOLE list there. This challenge is easy, just use the ramps, and ull off the tricks. MEDAL IN THE COMPETITION ======================== This can be found near that "Open" section that you unlock after you complete find the guards keys. It is in the bit just down from that with the ramps and all the funboxes. This is also really simple. Just score a big score. There are ramps there that can be used for massive totals and also some grind items as well. The two ramps aint really opposite each over close enough, so you can't do reverts to manuals and keep the total going, but if you really want to keep the combo alive, revert, manual, and then get over to a grind object. Once again, your two best scores count. GET THE PRO SCORE ================= Tnis challenge is located near the baseball pitch, BTW, that baseball pitch is also a mini-game, see mini-gmaes section for more about it. Elissa Steamer is there. Where you start off the challenge really isn't a good place to do it, go up the stairs and head down to where the two ramps are adjacent from each over with the prisoner underneath. Here is a good place to score tuns of points. Once again, use reverts to manuals and link the tricks up a halfpipe where you can do another big trick, the only fault is that you will lose some speed, but your combo goes up heaps. PULL OFF MULLEN'S TECH TRICK ============================ Find this by the steps where the 'E' was in skate, also it is next to the halfpipe with the prisoner below the vents. Just a simple thing to do. Jump onto the roof and pull of the trick while your at it, which is a FS Shove it. Land on the roof, do a manual, then take the manual all the way to the end. Balance yourself, and then at the end, jump off and pull off the trick selected at the top right of your screen, which is a kickflip. RANGER RON'S SKITCH LAUNCH ========================== To be honest, I don't know where to find this. When I went back through the game on my same save game file, I had to go "View Goals" tp get the mission, but once it starts, it takes you to a different location, so I don't know. What you have to do is get serious air. Skitch the cart, when the cart is about to reach the ramp, press down to let go of the cart and keep going foward, you will go into the air, then you will see a ramp there, keep going over it and land in the water. This should give you the first part done. Do the same, skitch the cart and let go before the end. Let go of the cart by pressing down, and get serious air, now this time use the ramp (Halfpipe) and go up like a ramp trick, you will get serious air. Land it by pressing R2 because you will probably end up not over a ramp. ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ ==================== This is located on the roof, the same one I think where you get the Collect S-K-A-T-E challenge. Anyway, what you have to do is collect the supplies and get to the ferry where you escape. Really, I havem't done this, and can't do this. if someone would e-mail me the locations, I would be eternally grateful and I woll put your name in the credits. But for now, I don't know. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- KONA ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SNAKE SAILOM ============ To find this, it is just in front of you when you start the level. It is a snake bowl thiongs that goes into a normal bowl at the end. This pone was tricky when I started doing ti, but then once Iv'e done it, I think it's very easy. What you have to do is juts go through all of the cones in 3 runs. Sounds simple, but there is a time limit. Move your character through the cones on the first run really quikcly to save time on the rest of the runs. Go through the cones on the second run and be aware of where the gates are. Do not go through the wrong gate, you will be taken back to the beginning. But if you accidently miss a gate and feel that your not going to make it back, go through the wrong gate and it will take you to the beginning of the run. Do all three runs of the slalom within the time limit. FIND THE MISSING RENTAL GEAR ITEMS ================================== This women sounds abit crazy to me, she sounds wierd. Anyway, you can find this lady near the path that connects the street section and the bowls. The path is out near the grass. What you have to do is get back the missing rental gear items. A helmet can be found at the farthest most corner ramp of the street area. Another helmet can be found in the bowl (the closest one to the (wooden Halfpipe). A piece of padding can be found behind that shop near the bowl. And finally, another piece of padding can be found behind the wooden halfpipe. 4 in total. COLLECT C-O-M-B-O ================= Near the and of the street section, The Mjic bum or something is there waiting. Start off by grinding the middle of the funbox ledge and then grab the C. Ok, the combo has started now. Jump off and land in a manual. You will lose speed, so to pick it back up again, jump and then land in a manual again. Go up the ramp (Quarterpipe or whatever) and then spine trtansfer over and in the air you will most likely grab the letter O. Revert into a manual and then grind the thing and grab the M. Keep grinding along the rails here keeping your balance and grab the rest of the letters. The final O isjust at the steps, but remember, you have to collect all the letters in one combo. HIGH SCORE ========== Find Bucky Lasek by the pool and the shop. Just look for a guy with an arrow above his head near the biggest building in this level. This is simpe, all yopu have to do is score a miserable 60,00 points. Thats nothing. Just pull off vert tricks in the pool to easily accomplish this. Once again, use reverts into manuals followed by more vert tricks to score alot of points. Anyway, this should be no problem, so how quick you can do it in. COLLECT S-K-A-T-E ================= To find this, from the start of the level, just head a wee bit right and the skater is just next to the start. S: Top of ramp in bowl K: Steps near snake slalom A: Top of hut T: Fun box in street section E: Ramp of hlafpipe MEDAL IN THE COMPETITION ======================== Steve Cabalero will be waiting near the street section of Kona. The street section is the part with only afew halfpipes, but with more funboxes and stuff like that. All you have to do is get a great score in the competition. Pul off vert tricks and grind tricks into manuals and reverts for extra scores. Do whatever it takes and get a big score. I can 99 3 times in a row My score was only 150,000 whihc really isn't that much, but with no stacks. Any score above about 100,000 is guaranteed a 85 + score and in the top 3. You get three runs and the top 2 scores count. gte in the top 3 to complete this challenge. SHOW OFF FOR THE LOCALS AT THE MINI-SPINE ========================================= Well, the top section describes where to find this, at the mini-spine near the street section, it has about 4 short ramps that do go up as far than the other halfpipes, they have Kona wirtten on the top and they mostly all have spines. All the tricks have to be done over the spine. Transfer by using either L2 or R2 while going up the vert ramp, then perform the trick that is yelled out. Keep going back over the spine and do all the tricks that are called out by the locals. The tricks will come at the bottom right of your screen. At the starts, try and only do the 1 trick over the spine, and as you gain confidence start doing two, but never more. IMPRESS OLLIE AND THE BUMBS WITH COMBO'S ======================================== Ollie the majic bumb can be found in the street section, all the way over towards the end of it (The opposite way to the wooden halfpipe) Just look for a hobo with an arrow above his head. First, you have to pull off a 10,000 point combo. Do it easily by going up one of the vert ramps and pulling off a massive trick, and then revert into a manual if you didn't get 10 thousand on the vert trick. This one should be no problem. Next, you are put at the wooden halfpipe, and you have to score a 11,000 point combo. This is easy as well, just go up the vert ramp, pull off a massive trick, and then revert into a manual and go up the vert ramp again. Next you are put at the start of a bowl. Go down into the heart of it and then go up the side, do a massive trick, followed by a revert into a manual at the end, then finally go up the vert ramp again and the combo will have kept on going so you will rack up the points. Also watch Ollie fall down at the end. (And even listeen to what he says afterwards.) GET A PRO SCORE: 125,000 POINTS =============================== Bucky Lasek will be standing near the spine where you did the nail the tricks they yell out. Just look for someone near there with an arrow above there head with a skateboard underneath their feet. Nate that the High score thing has to be done before this one becomes available. The two spines just right next to you are best used for getting this score. Go up the vert ramp, and then perform a big trick, revert into a manual at the end followed by going up the vert ramp again for way more points. Really, 125,000 points should be no worries at all. Once again, keep on doing this to see how fast you can do it. COLLECT THE SKATE CAMP WAIVERS ============================== Some old bag can be found just next to the shop and the big building near the bowl area on the grass. Grind around the bowl ahead of you to get the first (3) waivers. Exit the ball and jump to the start of the next bowl and grind along the outside. Grab the next 3 which will bring your total to (6). Jump over the ramp sticking out, and grab the next waiver. Keep going along the edge and grab the next 3 and cut scorss the grass. Go up the side of the slalom thing and go onto the path. Grind the rail to get the next waiver (10) and then grind the ledge to your left and grab waiver number (11). Keep heading down this way and grab the next waiver by the funbox. Transfer over the ramp at the halfpipe and grab the next one. (13) Then head over to your left once landing and grind the bench and then if you don't have time, do a manual to keep on going and then go up the vert ramp and grab the last waiver. All done. PLACE THIRD OR BETTER: VERT COMPETITION ======================================= Look around near the wooden halfpipe. You will see Steve Cabalerro there, but you have to have done the Street competition for this to be unlocked. What you have to do is just easily pull off tricks and get a great score. Pull off a massive trick in the air, revert at the end followed by a revert into a manual + a way better trick. Keep doing this and don't go out of the competition area which is the halfpipe section. Keep busting huge tricks. Anything over 200,00 with a low stack percenateg is guarranteed a 95 + score. OLLIE THE MAGIC BUM X5 AGAIN ============================ Find Tony Hawk near the steps of the street section, it is on teh right if you are coming from the wooden halfpipe. The Magic Bum has followed Tony from Venice. In case you don't know, you have to ollie this guy in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 in the level called Venice. it's basically the same objective here. The bum only appears in the one location, and then when you jump him, he will move to the enxt, so there is a specific order you have to get him in. He is first near those ramps where you done the "nail the tricks" objective. He is behind the ramp sleeping. Jump over him. Go to the grass and then you will see a lone vert ramp, behind here he is. Jump over him. Stick to the grass and keep on going up, you will come up a hill and towards where you started the level. Behind the big ramp he will be now. He is next behind the only big ramp in the pool near the hut. Then finally he is in the street section in between the two spines, near Tony Hwak. SHOW OFF YOUR MANUAL SKILLS =========================== Find a Kona Employee in the street area near where you got the last challenge. The employee has set up a long tech challenge. First easily gain speed, then from the cones, manual or nose manul all the way across the end. Next, press left and sqaure to kcikflip onto the straight, and then manual all the way to the end. Lastly, kickflip (See above) onto the box, then manual all the way to the end and then do a heelfip (right + square) off the straight. Thats done. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SHIPYARD ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- BUST A HIGH SCORE ================= Find a little skater kid by the bowls near those freight containers. He is also located near that crane thingy that moves. All you have to do is score a measly 65,000 points. This cna be done any way. If you are better at Vert skills (Like me) There are 2 ramps opposite each other here, although you might want to move into the bowl if you want to do the manual and revert thing for higher scores. If you are more the grinder, well around the level, there are plenty of great spots. Just to name one, at the beginning of the level, there is a great grind route where you do the first c-o-m-b-o letters. 65,000 points should once again be no problem to do. For another challenge, just so how fast you can do the level. COLLECT S-K-A-T-E ================= A security guard is waiting by the freight containers. Just near the ramps near the crane thing is the guy. The S is straight in front of you, if you go into the bowl section. Then head to the beginning of the level, you know, where you get the 2 c-o-m- b-o objectives. Wallride up the side wall and jump over the ramp and grab the A. Keep heading along, and jump down near the end. You will come to an undercover section, so then go up the vert ramphere and get the K. Then head back to the beginning of the level, and go up the first vert ramp and grind to the right. Keep grinding, and jump the gap over to the tower and get the T. Get onto the actual tower walkway section and the turn around the corner, jump on the pipe thing and jump and grab the E. COLLECT C-O-M-B-O ================= As soon as you start the level, just head to the right a tad bit. You will see a pro sakter here. This will probably be the very first challenge that you do on this level. Wallride the wall right in front of you and grind up and grab the C, keep grinindg, and when you see the ramp, grind along the edge of that and go over the gap to collect the O. Keep grinding after the jump and you will collect the M, then jump to the wire on your right a tad bit, and then finally use the side of the ramp and grind and jump to collect the O. Once you have collected all of the letters, just land the big combo, and your done. VARIAL KICKFLIP THE SHACK WATER GAP =================================== This can be found by Rune Glifberg (Or if your using Rune to complete the challenges like I did the first time around) then it will be a neversoft skater on the overhead walkway section. This one is easy, all you have to do is turn around from where you start, and fall down the gap. You will most likely stack it, but who cares. Land on the ramp below, and jump the water gap and do a Varial Kickflip (Down + Left + Square) over the little gap and your done. GAP ACROSS THE SUSPENDED CONTAINERS =================================== Jeez, find another pro skater near the crane and where you got the objective about the skate letters. Bah, this is totally easy to do. Seriously. Spine transfer, and just do a little trick such as a Kickflip (You don't have to do a trick, but since this is sooo easy, just liven it up abit, k?) Anway, just spine transfer by pressing L2 or R2, personally I like using the L2 button for spine transfers, but really it is up to you to make a real choice. Once you get to the end of spine transfering the freight containers or whatever, the crane will spin around in the cut scene. Just spine transfer back as well, doing tricks if you want to. probably the easiest goal in this level. SLAP THE BUOY ============= This challenge can be found by the water gap, and the buoy that swings left to right over the water gap. Also, the challenge is kind of near where you get the pro challenge score, but to get that challenge, you have to complete the high score challenge. ;) This is easy really, but to many, the time limit can be abit of a pain. All you have to do is grind the top of that moving buou that swings side to side. Jump over the gap, grind the top, and then turn back and keep doing that until you hit it 5 times. Remember that if you are in the air and the timer runs out, you have to return to safe land without doign a trick before it ends the run. This can be used to your advantage throughout the game. WELDER LUNCH DELIVERY ===================== Somewhere between two of the vert ramps near the tracks that the train sometimes comes on. From the very start of the level, turn left with the tracks, and the guy is somewhere on this path. Find him if you can. Jump and go up the ramp and grind right, and grind past welder number (1) and deliver his nice, nutritous food that tastes very...... off topic, but I'm hungry. You have to wait to I get something to eat before I continue to help you. *Gets Sandwhich* Anyway, transfer over the air gap from the first welder and then jumo over to the wall on your left, keeping in the same combo. Get the second welder by just grinding on the same ledge as him. Keep going and get welder (3) his lunch. Jump off at the end and get welder (4) Note that this doesn't have to be in the same combo, but for me it feels the same as the C-O-M-B-O challenges. Then jump the gap and run into the 5th welder. DOG CHASE ========= Along the main section where you start. Just keep going foward, and when you pass the first turn, go up abit to your left. This challenge is locked I think until you do some of the others. In this, you gotta keep those bitch's from eating you. the first bone one is staright ahead, grind on the ledge. Then keep grinding along and get the next bone. jump the gap and grab the next bone, then jump off and grab the next bone and then keep going slitghly foward to your right abit and transfer up the ramp and grab the last bone. This mission really sucks though, the time limit isn't that great, and it reminds be of all those other challenges you have to do, like the combo ones which involve collecting the things like these, but meh, what can you do about it. INVENTORY THE FREIGHT CONTAINERS ================================ Simply, near the freight containers, the freight containers are those big things piled up in the upperr left hand side of the level if you are starting at the beginning of the level. There are 21 of the freight containers to trick on, but only 2 minutes. But really, this is quite simple as all the containers are easily seen and are all in the same area. What you have to do is just tag every container. For this, you will need these skills: - Doing lip tricks, just basic lip tricks, only short ones which you really don't need to hold for that long - Grinding, and idiot that has gotten up to this stage can grind, it's simple, only grinding is really neede afew times, but stil.. - Wallrides, yes very importent, especially for those ones that are up high with no means of vert ramps to do lip tricks. Just go around doing tricks on the containers. Ones with a vert ramp going up can be used to do a vert ramp on the container, ones up high can be grinded or wallrided. If you see a container that isn't tagged in colour, perform a trick that touches the actual container. GET A PRO SCORE =============== Undercover section near the buoy and the water gap thingy. It's near the objective with the "Slap the buoy" thingy. Just look for some skater kid, but you have to do the high score objective before this one becomes unlocked. Just easily score 150,00 points. Just find a halfpipe and bust some extreme tricks such as stuff like a grab trick, spin in into a revert then into a manual, and then even do some flatalnd tricks mixed in as well. Meh, see if you can do this in one whole combo. BUST TRICKS ACROSS THE ROOFTOP GAPS =================================== Rooftops, I don't know exactly how to get up there, but it is across the road from some building that says "Nickel Onians". I think it might be the same place where you deliver the last welder's lunch. From the start, head up, and past the turn on your left will be the rooftop at the end. Just bust the tricks that come up. if a trick appears on the backlog twice, do the trick once and both will go away. you can only do 1 tick at a time other wise you will stack and lose the tricks that you did in the combo. Do them over the gap, simple as that. Look in the bottom right hand corner to see the tricks that are yelled out. The tricks that appear are random, so there really isn't no walkthrough to be given out. HEELFLIP FS INVERT THE FREIGHT CONTAINER ======================================== Find this challenge by those bowls all the way over near the waters edge. Some pro skater will be waiting for you. As I always say I'm not 100% sure if this trick is the same for each character, as I used Rune Glifberg first time around, and his was FS Invert, so thats what I'm using. lay of the e-mails. Anway, as you satrt, you can't do the invert trcik as soon as you start, because you need special. Go up the vetr ramps and get special. then do the trick on the big crane which is opposite to you when you start. Once you have done the special move on the crane thing, hold the lip trick. Stay there, and let it transfer. balance it on the crane, and the crane will kove. When it moves into the other bowl, let go of the lip trick and land. Your done. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- LONDON ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HIGH SCORE ========== The first challenge for London can be found just over the road across from one of the fountains. A skater kid is waiting there. Just get 75,000 points. This can be done anyway, if your a vert scorer, find a hlafpipe and bust some trick, then do reverts into manuals and then this will keep the combo alove, so then you can go back up the vert ramp across from you and score a massively big combo. If your more of a grinding fan, well there are many places that are good for this. But still, 75,000 is piss weak, and I'm sure you could get it in one combo, no doubt. Once you do this, the pro score challenge will be unlocked. COLLECT C-O-M-B-O IN ONE COMBO ============================== Next to the benches by the fountain, an Englishman will be waiting with an arrow above his head. What to do really I shoudn't explain, but if your that dumb, what you have to do is collect the C-O-M-B-O letters in one combo. Grind along the benches and collect the C as you go, then jump and grind over the gap, and on the bus-stop thingy, keep going and then jump to the ledge at the end and you will collect the O. Take the ledge around, and then jump off near the end and manual. Go up the vert ramp, and collect the M and grind to your right. Keep grinding, and then collect the B on the wire above the road. Keep grinding along. Now you will probably be out of grind balance, so manual to your left so you stay on the ledge. Rightat the end will be the O. WALLRIDE TAG 5 BUSSES ===================== Next to that bus stop thingy by the fountains. Inbetween where you collected the C and the O for the combo challenge above. This here is pretty easy, All you have to do is tag 5 busses by wallriding them. To wallride, face the bus parralell, and then jump into the bus's side while grinding. Busses will appear around the same road near where you are, so wait on the road, and afew will likely come past. If not, go looking for them. And no! you can't wallride the same bus 5 times. GRAB 5 COPPERS HATS =================== Southside section (The southside section is what I call where you do the flatland training, the competition and also ghetto tag the wire) Look for a pro skater near the ramp leading up and the light wire around the outside. Grab the coppers' hats by doing a grab trick over their heads. Copper one is staright ahead of you, just go foward and jump and do a grab over him. The trun around, go around the corner to the left, and go to where the flatland training took place. You will see another copper by the vert ramp. Do the same. Go upto the section with the road, and you will find a copper walking along the street, just below where you got the B from combo. Take a right, and go up the road, and turn the corner left and grab copper #4 hat. The last copper can be found near the cones and the place that leads out of games area where busses come. (NOT the bridge) - Pull grab tricks over the coppers heads: #1: Straight in front fo you #2: Trun around, #3 walking along street, #4: Near arrows and read leading out of game #5: Along street off bridge LAND A 100,000 COMBO ==================== Easily be found across the road from the fountain, go up the stairs near the bust stop thingy and the guy is in an undercovered section. Easily go to the halfpipe that is a fair away acorss from you. Go there and pull off massive tricks, then go into a revert, then a manual at the end, and go up the over side of the vert ramp. Anything like 10,000 x 10 will take you over, so thats what you will be looking for, some score like that in the one combo. Remember: Do grab tricks and spin them around for sick points. RODNEY'S FLATLAND TRAINING ========================== Rodney Mullen is located at the big open air flatland area in the southbank section, where you stole one of the coppers hats. First, jump into a manual. It will say: Good, now land it, so do just that. Next, it says to do a manual into a pogo. Jump into a manual, (Up,down OR down,up) and tehn perform a pogo by quickly pressing triangle two times. Land the pogo when it says to. For the next callenge, do a manual into a pogo and then do a wrap around by pressing square 2 times really quicly. Then land it when it says to. Finally, you have to do a 8,000 flatland combo. This is no problem. Do a manual, and then do a pogo, then wrap around, back to a pogo, then another wrap around etc. this will boost your multiplayer, and when you do a differnet trick about 9 times, your main score will have reached 1,00 without the multiplyer added on. And we all know what 1,000 x 9 equals. DO A TRICK OVER THE FOUNTAIN ============================ Simply as you start, just by the fountain. Alberta Jefforson or whoever he is is waiting for you. The reason I put "trick" is because different characters have different tricks, for rune glipberg, it was a "japan" over the fountain, but for someone else, it was a "crossbone". the key with this challenge is that you don't have to actually do the trick over the high part of the fountain. Just aim for the middle section of one of the fountains, trick over it and land just to the side. Usually it will count it. Do the trick suggested over both fountains. In order for the trick to count, you have to get this gap: Ye old fountain. The trick combination to do is in the top righr hand corner of the screen. RACE THE COPPERS AROUND LONDON ============================== Up on a ledge, near the fountains, but just off the road a tad bit. Look around for some guy with an arrow above his head. Race the coppers around London and win, thats what you have to do. Try to get in front of the coppers at the start of the race, that should make it easy. Follow the path along, and when you come to a haystack or a barricade, either jump it or swerve around it. It wont matter if you hit it. but you will lose speed and then the coppers can get in front. just do 2 laps, and the main thing to win is to not worry about the coppers, that always puts pressure on you. Also, don't hit a wall, you will crash, bail and fail the level. FREE STOMPY! DESTROY THE TRAPS ============================== Near the flatbed training section with Rodney Mullen, look for alot of protesters in the corner with signs and all that they are carrying, then look for the gy in there with the arrow above his head. First, use the ramp and go up onto the bridge. Right in front of you will be the first trap. Grind both sides of the trap wire to disable it. You will know when both sides are done, because you will get some gap and also your count meter will go up one. Then keep going towards the roads near the fountain. Disable the next trap there, and be quick and make sure that stompy is a fair way back. Keep heading up to the fountain section after this trap has been disabled and then trun right up the road, follow it along and disable the 3rd trap. Next, go to where the cones are with the ramp just around from where you are now. The final trap is here, just on the road. GET A PRO SCORE =============== This easy challenge can be found just by the cones section where the last stompy trap is, some skater kid is just next to the entrance of the parking lot. Easily get a po score of 175,000 points. Find a halfpipe and bust some extreme trick, into reverts and manuals for bonus points. Have fun with this challenge, see if you can get it in one big combo or something. But anyway, find somewhere thats your type of skating place. SKITCH THE POLICE BIKE ====================== Near the shop in the southside section with the breakable windows, there is a ramp leading up to where the road or whatever is, go up the road and turn left to see someone there. Skitch the coppers all around London, seems simple enough, but I only tried this one once, so I don't have a big knoledge of where you go and all. Just skitch the back of the bike by pressing the up button to skitch, but the police will try to knock you off as well as call you "Wanker" at the same time. Bloody Englishman, right Inferno? Since the cops whack you, change sides when you see the cops winding up for a hit, to do this, press the R1 button to go to the right, or L1 button to move to the left. I'm not sure how far you have to go before you complete the mission. NAIL THE COMBOS THAT COME UP ============================ just off the road by the halfpipe across from the fountain, the same halfpipe that I suggested for getting the massively big 100,00 combo that was easy. Just nail the combo's that come up on screen, two will come up at a time, and you will have to do them in the same combo, for example a bonless and a kickflip come up at the bottome right hand corner of your screen, then do them both while you are in the air. They will just keep on coming, until you do them all of course :p Usually a grab trick in a flip trick will come in the same combo, but complete them both before you hit the ground. LAND THE FLATLAND TRICKS AS THEY APPEAR ======================================= Near where the competition judge is, over the other side of the flatland place. This is the undercovered section, and it is undercovered by the bridge on top of it. The title describes it all, land the flatland tricks as they appear. The tricks appear in the same position as they did in the last challenge, in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It says that you have to press triangle plu triangle to do a pogo, but how can you press triangle and hold it again when your already holding it once? Weird. Anway, jut press traingle really fast twice to do it. if something like a casper comes up (Triangle + Square) but you are having trouble actually doing the trick, try holding the first button and then pressing the next. oh, and incase your that dumb, all these trick have to be done in a manual. MEDAL IN THE COMPETITION ======================== The undercover section by the bridge, in the southside area, near where you completed the flatland training for Rodney Mullen. Basicllay, once again the title says it all. There is really nothing to trick on in this area, and you have to stay in it for the points to count as well. Bust excellent combos, such as: A manual, then jump and do a kickflip, then go back into a manual and perform pgog's and wreap arounds and handstands to be a multiplyer. Try to get a score of about 30,000 points, and that will put you in a great position. Also remember that if you get a bad score, the judges only take your 2 best rounds. Get good flatland tricks scores. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ZOO ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- GET A HIGH SCORE: 80,000 ======================== As soon as you start the level, just head foward, throught the gates and straight away Tony Hawk will be there (Unless you are using him to skate with) Talk to Tony HAwk and he will describe the level and give you the challenge. Get a score of 80,000 points. I say explore the level before doing this challenge, because it gives you an idea of first what the level is like and then also where some good places to bust some excellent combos and tricks are. The halfpipe by the rhino's and elepants enclosures are a good place. It's like a moat, and can be good for getting great combos. If your more of a grinder, then do your tricks on the plantr on the edge of the zoo. Great place that. COLLECT THE C-O-M-B-O LETTERS ============================= in the monkey enclosure place, from the gates, go foward and turn right, then turn right again and go up the path into the enclosure section and you will hear those damn monkeys. There are two guys in this section. Go up the ramp basically in front of you, then revert into a manual at the end. Then grind along the egde and grab the O. Keep grinding along and jumo the gap and grind the letter M. Keep going and once again jumo the gap and keep your balance and gar the B. Finally jump off at the end and collect the O as you land. Simple. HARDFLIP AND HEELFLIP KENNY =========================== Exit the zoo via the same agte the you came into the zoo by at the beginning of the level. Look somewhere to your right to find some guy with an arrow above his head. Approach the Koala that is just standing there, and jump over him and at the same time, do a heelflip over him. This is the first bit done, but know the koala will be pissed and will start to run away. Now you have to hardflip kenny, but he is moving whihc makes it a bit hard to do. First just try and find Keeny, then try to gte your jump so exact that you will fly over his head, and perform the trick. If your still having trouble, run itno the koala, and knock him down. The before he gets up, do the hardflip over him. NAIL THE TRICKS THEY YELL OUT ============================= Find Bam Magera inside the Bird Avery, the bird Aveyr is next to the Aquarium that has to be opened later. From the start, keep going foward and turn left, and take the path up to your left and go into the bird avery. The birds are annoying Bam, so you have to do the tricks that they call out. The tricks appear at the bottom right hand corner of your screen. If a hardflip appears there, do a hardflip in a trcik and land it. Simple as that. If two of the smae tricks are listed, then do the trick once and it will get rid of both of thetricks from the backlog. This one includes doing lip tricks as well. HELP THE LION TAMER ESCAPE ========================== The Lion Tamer can be found i the lions cage, to actaully get the challenge, go to the Lions Cage. From the start of the level, head to the right path and keep heading up past the snack bar. Just perform a big 50,000 combo in the lions cage to distract them. Go inside, and go to the halfpipe to the right. Perform a massive garb trick and spin it, and the revert into a manual at the ned, followed by going up the other side of the halfpipe and getting more points. Doing this challenge is considered easy since you had to do a 100,000 combo in Lonsdon, so if you done that, this one should be very simple. BEAT BOBS 3 BEST COMBOS ======================= By the Lions cage and the snake bar, if coming fro the aquarium or the bird avery, it's on the left by the big rock. Bob has got some crap combos in different places in the zoo. You first start at the rock statue. The trick here is that you don't have to stay in the position, so jump down to your left into the halfpipe and perform a grab trick, spin it, revert into a manual and keep on going. 40,000 should really be no trouble, just keep revertinginto manuals and do flatland tricks if you lose manual speed. The next one you need to beat is 50,000. Easy, just turn right as you start and go down into the halfpipe without performing a trick yet, then get down in the halfpipe and do reverts to manuals. And for the last combo, head to that same quarter pipe. If at any time you bail, you lose the challenge. You also lose if you do a combo less than what it says, so don't do pissy little kickflips on your way to the halfpipe. STOP THE MONKEY FROM ESCAPING ============================= Inside the monkey enclosure, from the starting gates, head up, then turn right, and then right again up the path. then go into the monkey section and find the zoo keeper. Head around the corner to your right first, make sure that the monkey is behind you. Follow the arrow to the gate and just bump intothe guy. You can't take a shortcut through thegates there as well, otherwise it goes goal failed. Head back, and then turn off at your second left, so your near the entrance of the zoo, head to the gy up here and bump into him or get near him and you complete the goal. SKITCH THE ELEPHANT =================== Near the elephants outside place, look for a zoo keeper (disgruntled or something). If coming fro the zoo entrance, it is just to the left of the snack bar. Skitch the elephant for 30 seconds is what you have to do. First, teansfer from the moat into the actuall cage thingy. Then you will see the elephant. Press up to hold on to his back. Then the timer starts, hold ont o the back, and keep it balancewd. Remember that you don't have to hold up now that you are skitching. The elephant will through you off balance by shooting shit out the back of it. If you need to, change sides of the elephant by pressing the R1 or L1 button. The timer will still tick down, but the main thing is to keep yourself balanced. Skitch for 30 seconds and your done. CATCH THE 5 RUNAWAY PENGUINS ============================ Inside the Aquarium. To open it, what you have to do is get up onto the snack bar. Jump off the snakc bar and grind the elephants back. it will charge and then hit the aquarium open. Go inside to find the guy. From where you start, go straight and then to the right and kncok over the first penguin. Then head back up and just before the exit is a little path thing, turn left into here and knock over the second penguin. When you come out of the aquarium, head left to near where the Hippo Trainer was/is and go near the ramp and hit the 3rd penguin. Next, head to the bridge and hit the next one, and the final penguin is on the path leading into the brid avery which is just to the right when you come out of the aquarium. GET A PRO SCORE: 200,000 ======================== Tony Hawk is hiding on top of the snack bar, from the start, go up and then turn right, the snack bar is just up ahead. Trnasfer over the ramp to find Tony Hawk up there. Heh, simple. Jump down into the moat halfpipe and just bust some massive air tricks into reverts and manuals. If you are more of a grinder, then try the planter or something. Just bust really ig combos ad you'll gte this fairly quick enough. 200,000 is piss weak. MEDAL THE COMPETITION ===================== Top of that bridge. From the start of the level, keep heading foward and the bridge is in front of you. Just transfer over the vert ramp and find the judge. The judges and competition makers have set up the big halfpipes here. Once again, the easiest tricks to do a vert ramp ones. So go up the vert ramp, do a grab trick and spin it, land into a revert and a manual, go up the other side of the vert ramp, do the same and you will rack up heaps of points. Like all competitions, your 2 best runs only count. Place 3rd or better and you beat the challenge. GRIND THE 4 ZOO BANNERS ======================= Up on the roof, to get there, from the start, go to the left side when you come through the gates, then wallride the building and jump on top to find Bam Magera there. The 4 zoo banners are really simple to grind. the first one is straight haead of you. Jump and grind. For the zoo banner to be counted as a full grind, a gap will come up. Once your at the end and have grinded the first one, turn around and grind along the next banner. Then once you have done that, at the end trun around and go back along grinding the next banner. For the last banner, you will need to jump down a little bit and then grind that. Once all 4 are grinded, you beat the challenge. BUST A TRICK OVER THE TIGER CAGE =============================== Find this challenge somewhere to the left of the tiger cage, sorry, thats all I know about this one. The reason i say "Trick" is once again because it will be different for other chararcters. I first used Rune Glifberg, but then replayed the level will someone else and I'm sure the trick was different. Gte into the lions cage, then build up special with the halfpipe. Then transfer up to the ramp just higher than you and land it, and then use the ramp to jump off while quickly doing the special move. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CARNIVAL ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HIT THE TRICKS AND RING THE BELL ================================ From the start of the level, head around to the right and keep going around. Look for a guy by the big bell thingy on the left. This is basically the same as all of the other nail the tricks challenges, bu this one has a catch, you have to do the trick while hitting the bell at the top in the smae combo. First get some speed before the first trick comes up, then go up the ramp and transfer while ringing the bell at the smae time as doing the tricks. If two of the same tricks appear in your backlog at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, do the trick once to get rid of the both, while hitting the bell at the same time, remember. Complete all of them to complete. If at any stage your line up of tricks to do gets to many, you will automatically fail the challenge. HIGH SCORE: 750,000 =================== From the start, head to your left, and go just up from where the woodlogging section is. Find a skater kid near this area. The first time I saw this, I thought **** off! But then I realised it was very easy to do. Go up the vert ramp, and also try to keep a good line up, otherwise you will go headfirst into the ground. Do a grab trick and spin it around, and then land into a revert to manual to keep the combo alive. then go up the next side, and do another big grab trick, and spin it. Keep on doing this to rack up alot of points. The only probelm you will encounter is that you will lose manual speed to keep the combo toghether, so do some flatland tricks. Try and get your multiplyer level up, so quickly just do pgogo's to wrap arounds or whatever and try and boost the multiplyer. Land about 3 of these massive tricks and your done. ####################################################################### ======================================================================= 5: PRO GOALS WALKTHROUGH ======================================================================= ####################################################################### ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COLLEGE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO THE BENCHES, STAIRS AND FLAG POLE ======================================= Go up the back of the level. Near where the kiosk and all are also near that big fountain that looks abit dry. If you follow the road all the way around to the end on the oppsite way to the colliesium, at the end you will see a gate to the right. Go in here to see a pro akter. What you need to do is combo all three of these things. Start of by grinding the benches. Make sure you have good stats and all before doing this challenge, because you will defenetly need the grinding ability. Jump off the benches at the end, and then manual and grind down the edge of the stairway onto the fountain. Keep going around the fountain and jump off when you want to and hopefully get onto the edge of the stairs again. The combo is a big one, so good luck, and also you have to include all three of these things in your combo, the stairs, fountain and benches that is. GET ALL 4 MASTER LIP GAPS ========================= Near all of those tables. From on the road, heading to the colliesium, turn left and go up the stairs. You will see some shop on your left, and on your right will be some old proffesor, go up to him and he will give you the challenge. Keep going foward as you start the challenge, and then go up the ramp, but instead of lip tricking the actual lip, you have to lip trick the roof. Hold the lip trick on the roof until you get a message that says you have done one of the master lip tricks. Then as you land, keep going foward and you will need to lip the sign above. Don't grind it, but lip trick it and get down when you need to. Head over to the right when you have landed the trick, and then you will see 2 ramps on your left and right near where the proffesor is. Go up one of these and lip trick the roof. Lets say you took the one on the left and lip tricked it, as it was closer. As you land, head away from the wall (To the left) and you will see a little vert ramp by an opening in a building. Launch up this ramp with enough speed, and you are going to lip trick the roof. There you go, done. COLLECT PRO COMBO ================= This challenge can be found by the colesium. From the start of the level, head around the road to your right, and turn left at the end, and if you now look left, in between the wall and the building will be Ollie the majic bum. Go to him. This challenge can be a bit difficult to do, it took me awhile, but there is a little secret for doing it, which I will tell you after. Start by going to the wall, and wallride up it, and grind the top ledge. Keep grinding along, and keep your balance going and collect the C from the top of the arch. Keep going and grab the O up here. This next bit can be abit difficult. You have to transfer from this part, to the bit going to the right. Jump over to the right, get the right timing and then land on the next section. With speed, grab the M and then the B from the top of the archway farther on. Now, one more letter to go. Keep grinding along, and at the end of the wall, jump off and grind the ledge. Keep going along and jump and get the O. If you still have some trouble this way, then buy the Slow Motion cheat. BEAT BOB'S 3 BEST COMBOS ======================== Basektball courts, near the tennis coursts. From the start of the level, you will see an opening ahead of you, which is the main entrance to the college insides. Go through here and turn left and go up the ramp into the basketball court to find a pro skater, which is Bob Burnquist. Another one of these? This guy really sucks. Anyway, what you have to do is perform a big combo, big enough that it beats his lousy scores. Okay, now go up the ramp straight in front of you as you start, and perform a massive grab trick, such as a benihana, and hold the trick and spin around to get more points. Revert into a manual as you land and grind the fence and land it for a huge combo. As the next one starts, transfer over the the ramp in fron of you doing a grab trick as you go and you will get a gap for more points, then revert into a manual and do some ground tricks like pogo's and handstands and then safely land it. Next, go up the spine one and revert into a manual and see if you can get to the vert ramp all the way opposite you, doing ground tricks as you go. GET A SICK SCORE: 250,000 POINTS ================================ As you start the level, you will come to a little T section, head right towards the collisiem and then turn left and go up the stairs and the ramp section. - Rootop of shop (Find Tony Hawk) - Find a halpipe or bowl and get 250,000 points ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SAN-FRANSISCO ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GET A SICK SCORE: 300,000 POINTS ================================ There is a pro skater out front of one of those warehouses. As you come into the level from near where that big staircase is which is a big gap, then head down the road and look to your right and try to find Kareem Campbell somewhere along here. Basically, you have to score a big 300,000 points in one run. This is fairly simple if you are good at this game, but if you are a beginner or are just plain crap, then it can prove a tad bit hard. The best place I use for getting this secore is the bowl on the left hand side of the level, over towards the plaza and that statue which is the fountain. There are alot of grind spots around if you are better at grinds, and remember: Revet into manuals for more points and to keep the combo going. COLLECT PRO COMBO ================= I'm not sure if this is the first warehouse you come to, but anyway, as you come into the level from near where the big stairs are and near Pier 18, head along the road and then somewhere on the right of the level will be some skater kid. What you have to do is basically collect the letters C-O-M-B-O
