Enter Settings at the main menu. Press Y to create a new profile. As your name enter ".fortune" (without quotations). As soon as the "e" is entered you will see a message. Keep on entering the code for a new message.

Alternate ending sequence
Complete the final level in campaign on legendary. The secret ending shows a human and alien fighting hand to hand...but there's a twist.
