Take-Two: Grand Theft Auto IV Golden

Take-Two Interactive held their annual general meeting in New York today, and we're still waiting to hear if anything happened regarding EA and their continued hostile takeover attempt. But we have learned something that, while expected, helps move the GTAIV launch from the category of "99.9% sure" to "inevitable."
Take-Two's President Strauss Zelnick confirmed today that Grand Theft Auto IV has officially gone gold, and will indeed be ready for the previously announced release date of April 29. (source- Xbox Evolved) So in case you had any concerns about the game suffering a mysterious delay - perhaps due to a successful EA takeover - you no longer have to worry. It's a-comin'; and as Zelnick said, "trucks are rolling next week and there will be a lot of them." Well, yeah, we figured there would be, considering the sheer number of pre-orders and the analyst predictions for total sales. Most say GTAIV will sell 6 million copies in the first few weeks, and we wouldn't be surprised if it sold even more than that.
Grand Theft Auto IV is a mere 11 days away, and there's no turning back now. It's not only the biggest release of 2008, it's the single biggest release of the generation so far, so get ready!
