Rumor: Gears Of War 2 Info, First Map
Provided it makes it out this year, Gears of War 2 will certainly be one of the biggest titles of 2008. However, for now, we really don't have any official details or information from either Microsoft or Epic Games, so we kinda have to rely on rumors. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, though, because we all love a good rumor, right?
The latest bit of information comes courtesy of GameGuru, and lists the following as features for GeoW2:
- Unreal 3.5 Engine
- 4 new weapons
- Twice as big as the original game
- Playable air vehicles
- New melee combat mechanics
- New action set pieces
- Outdoor environments to include battlefield wars
Furthermore, there's supposedly a map that's codenamed "Silent Night," which draws the player deep inside the Locust Stronghold. It's good-sized map, too, as it will take you a good 20-25 minutes to complete. Beyond this, we don't have much else to talk about, but the mention of the Unreal Engine 3.5 and the sequel being "twice as big" as the original Gears of War certainly caught our attention...this sequel is gonna rock!
