Rockstar: About 70% Of Final GTAIV Trailer Is Actual Gameplay

Rockstar has revealed the final preview trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV, and we're guessing millions of fans have already checked out Everyone's A Rat (if you haven't, now's your chance). But as is always the case with these videos, many are left wondering: how much of what we're seeing is actual gameplay? Well, it seems Kotaku has received an approximate answer from Rockstar and you might be surprised with the answer...
Evidently, Rockstar says that "about 70%" of that trailer was straight-up gameplay; i.e., actual footage from the game in motion. The chase scene, for example, isn't a cinema, and it took the team "hours" for them to nail down that sweet high-speed 180-degree maneuver. We can't answer all your questions right now - no, we don't know exactly which 70% of the video is actual footage - but 70% is 70% and that's actually quite impressive. If the majority of what we see in "Everyone's A Rat" is gameplay, than our high hopes for this hotly anticipated title go even higher. We're just praying that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will move at a constant 30 frames per second, because that's going to be essential.
As soon as Rockstar decides to release more insider info concerning that final trailer, we'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, you should all be very satisfied with 70%.
