Poll: 37% Of GTAIV Users Report Freezing Problems

The freezing issues that seem to plague so many copies of Grand Theft Auto IV continue to run rampant, despite the big list of tips and suggestions provided by Take-Two's support staff a few days ago. Both Sony and Rockstar say they're currently working on a fix, but we're still not sure how long that will take.
Well, they better get movin'. According to a recent poll over at Loot Ninja, only 63% of users have said they haven't had any problems with the game, which means that 37% of users (more than 1/3, math geniuses) have indeed experienced freezing or lock-up issues. Now, the sample is only based on 2,420 votes, which is tiny in comparison to the actual number of GTAIV players out there right now, but the results remain somewhat telling. At PSXE, I personally haven't had any problems yet, but Arnold has found some serious freezing issues when trying to load the start of the game, and when trying to load an individual mission. So to some extent, we certainly feel the pain of those who'd love to play GTAIV, but just can't.
Perhaps this will cause Rockstar and Sony to work even faster, but we get the feeling that they're working as fast as humanly possible already. With a game that's this successful, with so many potentially defective copies out there, they're probably scrambling like mad to come up with a fix. If and when they do, we'll be sure to tell you about it.
