Midway Announces New WWII Shooter

Midway has been busy with the announcements lately, including the recent Unreal Tournament 3 details, and now, they've unveiled a whole new World War II shooter exclusive to the Xbox 360.
The game, entitled Hour of Victory, is roughly scheduled for a summer 2007 release, and is poised to challenge the biggest WWII names in the industry, like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty. Not surprisingly, the title will utilize the Unreal Engine 3.0, which was recently on display in the massive hit, Gears of War and is, of course, being used in the upcoming UT 3.
You'll be dropped into yet another challenging and diverse WWII situation, as you battle across Europe and even North Africa, helping out your British buddies in an attempt to take down both the Germans and Italians. But the fresh news is as follows: you'll be able to select one of three main characters to use; a Sam Fisher-esque cover operative, a U.S. sniper, or a British commando. Furthermore, if you see an abandoned vehicle on the battlefield, you can jump in and get movin'.
According to Executive Producer Mark Caldwell, Hour of Victory adopts a "more character-driven, big sandbox approach." "It's an Indiana Jones approach, versus a Saving Private Ryan approach, he stated.
